A big part of that for me was taking control of my food supply. That might be your primary motivator too.
Well, I have found (aside from gardening), that raising chickens has huge benefits. Then I inevitably came upon the thought…
“Where will they stay? I can’t keep them in the house”.
I know… how about chicken coops?
Perfect. So I started window shopping for chicken coops and was shocked by some of the prices.
Then I remember thinking about plans I had seen on the internet to build my own chicken coops. I immediately put that out of my mind…
…I was a horrible carpenter. heck, I even failed middle school shop!
So I sought a little guidance and low and behold, I have a great looking chicken coop.

…I documented what exactly I did, how I did it, and how I got most of my materials recycled!
Building chicken coops doesn’t have to give you a migraine…
It gives me a headache to even think about looking at blueprints. I have always been a visual and audial learner.
I find it so much easier to see pictures or listen to instruction. Better yet if both are available at the same time.
Unfortunately for me, there were very few options available that had lots of pictures correlated to the blueprints or the text. I know it sounds juvenile, but I need that. We saw a need…
That’s why we created our own system.
