Our humble little website was founded in a small 1 room cabin in the mountains just outside of Tonasket, Washington. The winters can be brutal, summers can be hot, the soil can be rocky, but the prospect of creating a place that can enable us to live sustainably is too good to pass up.
We have a killer view, a well, a garden in the works (potatoes and onions are already planted), a water tower being constructed,
We also have plans to keep bees, construction of a root cellar, and a smoker is ready to be built.
When we are not building our garden or maintaining our property, we are hiking in the valley just down the hill from us. Huge hills are all around and hearing the leaves of the aspen groves around us brings a sense of calm.
Learning ways to reduce your carbon footprint and leave the Earth a better place for future generations is the purpose of our site. Green tips, Eco-friendly discussion, and sustainability concerns are paramount for us here at greenmi.net.
Some people believe that global warming and other ecological concerns are a rouse to breed fear and consumerism. We have no comment as to whether this is true or just hype, but we believe it is better to leave a place better than what you found it, regardless of personal or political affiliations.
We believe that there is much more to be done by the general population to help make our planet as sustainable as possible for as long as possible.
We invite you to leave comments, join the discussion, and help leave this planet in better shape than when we came into it.
